Cygnet Duo is great to listen to and entertaining to watch. It comprises of Diane Arthurs on saxes, flute and vocals with either Emma Breese or Chris Keir on piano.
Whether Chris or Emma, the musical interaction is always spontaneous. Engaging for the audience and exciting to play. Both are exceptional Jazz pianists and I consider myself very fortunate to work with them.
Cygnet Duo is eclectic in styles and tastes and always aims to suit the mood and occasion when performing.
With tenor (and sometimes baritone) sax, flute and vocals we play gentle swing ballads, bouncy favourites from the Great American Songbook , a little be-bop, and many Groove based pieces by the likes of Grover Washington and Cannonball Adderly.
Our latin repertoire is equally varied and includes, amongst others, the popular styles of Bossa-nova, Samba, and Mambo.
